With the integration of DUURSMA, DESCOURS & CABAUD increases the number of its sales outlets in the Benelux to 77 and strengthens its ability to support its multi-site industrial customers.

A leader in professional distribution in France, a major player in Europe, and with a presence in North America, DESCOURS & CABAUD announces the acquisition of DUURSMA, a Dutch distributor specializing in MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) solutions.

This transaction is part of a targeted external growth strategy that has been pursued for several years. Since 2020, more than 30 companies have joined the Group – including ten in 2025 – demonstrating its commitment to sustainably strengthening its presence in Europe and North America.

DUURSMA, a long-standing industry leader

Founded over 130 years ago, DUURSMA is one of the leading industrial distributors in the Netherlands. Recognized for its technical expertise and close ties to industry players, the company supports its customers in the fields of power transmission, bearings, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

With 240 employees, 16 branches, and a turnover of 85 million euros, DUURSMA ranks among the leading players in its sector.

“DUURSMA is a true family business, and we share the same entrepreneurial culture as DESCOURS & CABAUD. Joining the Group gives us the opportunity to develop our expertise and create even more value for our customers, says André Looijen, Director of DUURSMA.

A strengthened presence in the Netherlands

For more than twenty years, the DESCOURS & CABAUD Group has enjoyed a solid position in the Dutch market, with DEXIS NETHERLANDS and HVO for industrial maintenance activities, as well as with the subsidiaries PROLIANS DESTIL, KROON, BTN, and WIEK DE LAAT, which specialize in the construction sector.

Together, these companies provide nationwide coverage and offer a comprehensive range of solutions to professionals in the construction, industrial, security, infrastructure, and technical services sectors. “The acquisition of DUURSMA marks a major milestone in our development in the Netherlands. With 68 sales outlets across the country, the Netherlands is now our largest market outside France in terms of number of locations,” says Philippe Massonneau, Managing Director of DESCOURS & CABAUD.

Commercial synergies across the Benelux region

The acquisition of DUURSMA marks a new phase in DESCOURS & CABAUD’s long-term growth strategy as well as in the development of DEXIS’s European leadership.

“DUURSMA and DEXIS share the same business approach, which is both pragmatic and deeply people-centered. Our shared ambition is to help our customers meet the challenges of an industry that is increasingly connected, automated, and responsible,” says Vincent Dubois, Director of DEXIS EUROPE. Thanks to the complementary nature of our expertise, DEXIS will be able to develop new business synergies across the Benelux region. This will strengthen our ability to support our customers with ever-greater efficiency, expertise, and responsiveness.”

William de Pinieux, Chairman & CEO of DESCOURS & CABAUD, concludes:
“The partners we seek are expert and well-established companies that share our commitment to excellence in serving professionals. This acquisition illustrates our determination to build a Group that is ever closer to its customers and confirms one of our strengths: combining the power of an international Group with the agility of a local presence. As we approach our 245th anniversary, we remain determined to pursue our ambition of becoming the go-to partner for professionals in Europe and North America.”
